What to Expect from the Session
Your session begins with a brief introduction to the ceramic-making process and a guided studio tour, offering a glimpse into how a piece of pottery moves from clay to its finished form.
You will then choose a bisque-fired coffee mug made from off-white stoneware clay, along with ceramic-grade colours and painting materials. The rest of the session is entirely self-guided, giving you the freedom to explore your creativity and paint in your own style and at your own pace.
Our team will be available if you need assistance, but this is not an instructor-led painting class. The idea is to give you the space to experiment, unwind and enjoy the experience without pressure.
Once you have finished painting, we will keep your mug at the studio for glazing and firing. This final stage helps make the mug food-safe and suitable for everyday use. Your finished mug will be ready for collection in approximately four weeks.
You can collect it from the studio after receiving confirmation, or opt for doorstep delivery at an additional cost.

Things to Be Mindful Of
To help us create a safe, enjoyable, and well-organized experience for everyone, please keep the following in mind:
- Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your scheduled session.
- Pre-booking is essential, as our sessions have limited slots and are often fully booked in advance.
- NISO is a boutique pottery studio with an ongoing design and teaching practice. Pre-booking allows us to plan ahead and ensure our team has the time and attention to offer you a meaningful, hands-on experience.
We look forward to welcoming you to the studio and helping you create a coffee mug that is uniquely yours.
