MAATI SE FARM

Decorative Flower

Maati Se is a beautiful farm in Madhya Pradesh, set against the Vindhya mountains, where sustainable organic farming meets a deeply rooted connection to the land.

The farm offers a boutique stay with three thoughtfully designed rooms, inviting guests to experience the quiet rhythm of life amidst nature. Maati Se also works closely with local tribal communities on forest restoration and rejuvenation.

The farm is owned and hosted by renowned forest officer Mr. B. M. S. Rathore and his wife, whose warmth and impeccable eye for aesthetics make Maati Se a truly special place. Mr. Rathore pioneered Joint Forest Management in India, working towards restoring the rights of tribal communities over forests.

WHERE NISO BEGAN

Maati Se is an important part of the NISO story. It is where we first began making pottery, before eventually making our way to our home and studio in Benaulim, South Goa, where we now create our work and host pottery programmes.

Our clay is made at Maati Se Farm before we mix it with sand from Benaulim Beach — bringing together two places that are deeply connected to our journey.
